Hello Oak Grove Parents/Guardians,
On behalf of the entire staff, we wish all families a wonderful Holiday Season! School will be closed from Dec. 21st to Jan 7th, 2025. School resumes on Wednesday Jan. 8, 2025, which will be a minimum day. Please keep in mind that we will only have five days left in the 2nd quarter once we return. Our 3rd quarter will begin on Jan. 15th.
Congratulation to our Students of the Month for November:
- 6th grade- Axel Duran-Angulo and Maria Kyle Stanescu
- 7th grade- Leonardo Tamayo & Natalia Nuñez
- 8th grade- Travis Ward & Roxy Carrillo Torres
Our students in Spanish class participated in a traditional Mexican posada, they went from class to class, and to our office, to sing Christmas Carols in Spanish. They were fantastic!
ASB students sold Candy Cane Grams and Hot Chocolate and students truly enjoyed these events! We look forward to more fun activities in 2025.
Our library is having a Winter Break Reading Challenge, here’s how it works:
- Students will read a book of their choice during winter break
- Draw a picture inspired by the book
- Write a short poem (8-12 lines) about their favorite chapter
Students will return their poems and pictures to their ELA teacher by January 13th. The student with the most creative poem and picture will receive a prize! The winner will be announced on January 17th.
8th Grade Parents;
Parents remember to register your 8th grade students for High School before the deadlines. Open Enrollment for Steele Canyon High School is ongoing, you must complete the “Intent to Enroll” process before Feb. 19th, click on this link for more information; https://sites.google.com/schscougars.org/2025-2026-enrollment/home Valhalla High School, also has open enrollment as well, the deadline is Feb. 28th, click on this link for Valhalla Register for 2024-2025
Reminders:
- Please remind your student do the following with their Chromebooks this winter break:
- Keep it in the protective cover
- Keep it clean and do not write or put stickers on them
- Keep track of the charger and sleeve
